What makes us different
- Classes at Artful Heart Yoga are taught off the mat, which means the teacher does not practice with the students (except
the advanced practice class). This way the teacher can assist and teach the students exactly what they need to
know to improve their poses and their health.
- Classes are structured in levels which allow each student to start where they are and to grow at their
own rate.
- The studio is very intimate and classes are small so each student gets lots of individual attention.
- Sessions are taught
progressively so students actually learn the proper alignment over the course of twelve weeks while they get
stronger and increase their flexibility and agility.
- Each class is centered around an uplifting spiritual emphasis that empowers
students in their lives off the mat.
What students are saying
"I went to visit a friend in Arizona; she has just turned 60, and I hadn't seen her in about year. As she walked toward me in the airport
I noticed a significant difference in her movements and her appearance. She seemed taller, stronger and more agile somehow than I remembered.
When I mentioned this to her she beamed at me and told me that she had been practicing Anusara Yoga three mornings a week for the last five
months. After I came home, I found Patience and Artful Heart Yoga, and I'm hoping I'll get some of the same benefits from the practice that
I saw in my friend." GP
“I have been taking Patience’s classes for the last year and a half and it has improved my life immeasurably. I am more calm, peaceful and
content—not frenetic like I used to be so often. And I take the chaos of the kids more in stride instead of losing my patience. I feel so
good when I leave her classes, so I was amazed at how strong I got so quickly! Anusara yoga helps to increase strength, agility and balance
and I have seen remarkable improvements in all three areas. It has also helped me with my other sports. I changed my alignment on bike rides
and it is much more comfortable now so I can ride much further.
I know a lot of gyms offer yoga classes and I have participated in many of those over the years, but most of
those classes are night and day difference from the way Patience teaches. Her approach is much more thorough and exact and the results are
dramatically different. It is hard to explain how different it is, you will just have to try her class to see what I mean.” JS
Mission Statement
Artful Heart Yoga was founded on the belief that we each are ever expanding creative beings. Through the practice of Anusara yoga we begin
to connect deeper to the inner knowing of our own true natures and create beauty in our lives.
In this practice, we celebrate the movement of the body as a way of making art. The alignment principles of Anusara yoga teach us to find
the optimal blueprint to heal pain and injury and to open the channel for the life force that feeds our hearts. The spiritual principles guide
us to finding more self-acceptance and release the limitations and bonds we put on ourselves. We build community in intimate classes where
we grow together.
We at Artful Heart Yoga are dedicated to helping the students reveal their ultimate freedom in their poses, their bodies and their hearts.
